Hartree was one of the projects profiled at a recent RIBA East and Cambridge Association of Architects event held on the future of sustainable housing.

The event, hosted by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s at its recently opened Entopia Building, featured a presentation by James Cox, Senior Development Manager at TOWN who, with LandsecU+I, are developing the vision for the Hartree site.

In his presentation, James outlined how sustainability & quality of life are at the bedrock of the project, and the journey required to ensure the delivery of sustainable housing. This included establishing the Sustainability & Quality of Life framework, and how business planning, procurement and the creation and iteration of KPIs for the project were being shaped by the highest standards of sustainability.

Those standards are underpinned by project two promises to People and planet, and two of the projects six values, which commit it to ‘Integrated with Nature’ and ‘Living within Environmental Means’.
